Artworks increase the beauty of your interior. It’s your responsibility to ensure the pieces’ safety and security, no matter if they are in use or stored somewhere. Artwork pieces are sensitive to weather fluctuation, mold effects, UV-ray contacts, and other factors.

It would be best if you always kept a few things in mind when storing your art. And this article will give you some useful tips to avoid your art from being damaged goods.

Clean First: The first thing before storing the art you should do is clean the artwork properly. Remove all the dirt and dust from the surface, backside, and the frame. You should do the cleaning by using a microfiber cloth.

If the art needs to remove hard objects, you can use a few drops of oil. It helps to remove rust. But be careful with the application because it can damage the art’s quality. Spraying polish on the wood frames can bring you an added protection for long-term storage.

Do the Packing: Now it’s time to pack your artwork for storage. But first, ensure some initial steps to give your excellent art protection. Add cardboards on the edges of each frame of your painting. It will protect the borders from scratch, damage, and provide long-lasting protection.

Make sure to cover up your art piece with bubble wrap, a blanket, or something flexible to secure the entire body.

Check out Moisture Level: One of the most crucial things to keep in mind is the moisture attack. You should create a protective shield and put your art in a plastic bag. You can use desiccant to keep your artwork packaging dry and protective.

Your contemplative photography should always remain safe and secure, even if you don’t hang them on the wall or store them somewhere.

Ensure the Right Position: It is essential to check out your art’s position when keeping it somewhere. It should stand when you do the packing. Always avoid laying the pieces flat because it can collapse the artwork’s frames for their weight.

You can wrap the art with two cardboards, foam boards, or plywood that are slightly wider or larger than the pieces of art. Do the wrapping properly with a secured tape.

Ensure Proper Environment to Store: You must look for the best place to store your artwork if it’s for a long time like Botto.com. First, check out the room temperature, humidity, ventilation, and the entire environment to ensure your art’s safety.

You can take a draft of the room’s temperature fluctuation and humidity situation for a few days before storing your art there. If everything goes positive, you can only store it out there.

Your art can lead to frequent expansion and contraction due to temperature fluctuation. The quality could lead to damage if the moisture level is not right. Make sure the temperature is 70-degree Fahrenheit on average.
