Our researchers have devised some simple steps for our customers so they can benefit from their products to maximum potential.
- ALWAYS comb your hair from ends towards your roots. With your natural hair as well as a wig, you should always start brushing from the ends. This will ensure minimum breakage and prevent hair tangling. It is advisable to use a leave-in conditioner or an oil-based medium to your ends before you start combing.
- Moisturize your hair before washing them with shampoo. You have to pre-moisturize before applying any kind of shampoo, no matter how mild, to protect the hair’s texture. If you cannot pre-moisturize for some reason, always co-wash. This means you should use a shampoo and conditioner together in the shower.
- Do not tangle or use harsh strokes while washing your hair. Keep them straight. Use gentle strokes. Make sure you are not breaking or tangling the hair too much.
- Use a leave-in conditioner after washing. It’s necessary to use a leave-in conditioner for all kinds of wavy or curly hair. These textures love moisture and thrive on it.
- Do not comb your hair when they are soaking wet. Wet hair is weak. They will break easily and cause frizz. To prevent the texture and volume of hair you should wait until they are slightly damp to comb. Avoid combing completely dry hair.
- Do not try drying your wig with a towel. Towels cause frizz and breakage; both extremely damaging to your hair. Instead, use a cotton t-shirt or cloth to blot away any excess moisture or water from the hair. You would use the same motion as you would dry your face with a face towel. Hang your wig vertically for thorough drying.
- Avoid blow-drying at all costs. Let water wave hair dry out naturally. Blow-dry or any hot heat will suck out the moisture leaving your hair coarse and frizzy.
- Avoid any kind of heat treatment on your hair. This includes all kinds of straighteners, rollers, curlers and diffusers. If you want to protect the texture of your hair for the long term, any kind of heat-treatment or styling is a big NO.
- Do not dye your wig. Dyes are detrimental to your hair health in the short and long term. Using dye on your wig will cause it to lose its shine and volume rapidly.
- Try not to sleep with your wig on. Either tie a silk scarf around your hair to avoid causing friction and ultimately frizz. Silk is very gentle to your hair. If you can’t wear a silk scarf it would be better to take your wig off at night.
