  1. Rest in the Right Way

Regardless of whether you’re just starting out on your fitness journey or have been exercising for years, your routine has to include some rest days. Though you can absolutely exceed the recommended 150 minute minimum per week, there has to be a limit.

That said, it’s important to rest in the right way. While you shouldn’t push the same muscle on consecutive days, sitting still is the worst thing you can do when you’re sore. Instead, do a light workout. You might go for a walk, ride your bike around the neighborhood, or lift some light weights.

Rest days are important to help sore muscles, but being sedentary is never a good idea.

  1. Perfect Your Technique

Exercising with improper technique will not only slow down your progress but can lead to more intense muscle soreness, even injury. One of the best ways to get rid of muscle soreness, especially excessive soreness, is to ensure you’re using the correct technique.

If you know how an exercise is supposed to look, you can work out in front of a mirror with light weights to check that you’re doing it properly. Those that are unsure should consider working with a trainer until you can workout with proper technique without difficulty.

  1. Know Your Limitations

Pushing yourself is essential to building strength and fitness, but as we mentioned above, there are limitations. And that’s okay! Remember, fitness is an ongoing journey, not a destination.

Accept that healthy progress is slow progress. You can and should increase the intensity of your workouts over time, but if you do so too fast, your workouts will be doing more damage than good to your body. If you’re interested, you can know more here regarding this principle.

Improve Your Workout Routine With These Tips on How to Get Rid of Soreness Fast

It’s important to remember that sore muscles post-workout are normal and an unavoidable part of improving your health and fitness. However, intense soreness can disrupt your daily life and make it difficult to exercise.

By using these tips for how to get rid of soreness fast, you might find that you’re still slightly sore, but it’s a manageable level that doesn’t throw you off track. And remember, always put your health first. If you’re too sore to exercise, there’s no shame in taking a day off.
