The news that Houssem Aouar has signed with Roma was confirmed on Sunday by the Serie A club.
The Algerian international has signed a contract with Jose Mourinho’s squad that will keep him in the fold for the next five years. He was granted a free move from Ligue 1 club Lyon.
“I believe it to be the appropriate project for me, with a large club, talented players, and a fanbase that is all its own. “I am now a Giallorossi player, and I am ready to go,” he stated in a statement after signing with the team.
Before declaring his allegiance to Algeria in March, the 24-year-old player had only competed for France once, in a friendly match against Ukraine in 2020. Algeria is the country where both of the player’s parents were born.
