Herschel Walker, a candidate for the Republican party, is now seen as the favorite to succeed the incumbent Democratic senator from Georgia, Raphael Warnock, in the next midterm elections, according to a recent survey that was conducted by a polling company.
An InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 Atlanta poll that was released on Thursday suggests that Walker has taken the lead in the Georgia race, which is one of the most closely watched Senate races in the nation. The poll found that the football legend received 47% support from voters in the Peach State, which was higher than the support that Warnock received (44%).
Since a survey was taken in July, the most recent poll reveals that support for Walker has increased by two points, while support for Warnock has decreased by four points. This is a significant shift in the race with only two months left until the midterm elections.
Walker explained on Wednesday’s episode of “Hannity” on Fox News why he feels he is getting an advantage over his Democratic opponent in a number of recent surveys.
