A former member of the United States Army who helped foil a terrorist assault in France in 2015 and is now a candidate for Congress in Oregon claims that citizens are “sick” of the state’s economic troubles and growing violence.
Alek Skarlatos, the Republican nominee for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District, recently spoke with the media, where he explained how his time in the military had prepared him to represent Oregonians of all political stripes, including those who had been sick of the state’s Democratic leadership for decades. Also, he said that he was a better candidate to get the country back on track than his Democratic rival.
At a press conference in October, Skarlatos remarked, “I think people have had enough of this one-party leadership, that’s definitely taken us down the wrong path.” This was in reference to the upcoming midterm elections in November, which are marginally favored by Democrats for the seat in question.
“That includes Democrats who are sick and tired of their party’s monopoly on power in this state after 40 years.” The state’s conditions have not improved during the 40 years that the Democratic Party has been in power there. “And then he elaborated on it afterward. “My pitch is to the large group of uncommitted voters who, in my opinion, will decide this election in our favor.” Likewise, I’m counting on the Republicans to turn up and cast their ballots for me. “
