Gov’t to absorb WASSCE fees for 313,837 final Year SHS students

President Akufo-Addo has noted in his address to the nation today, June 21st, that his administration is going to take care of the WASSCE fees of 313,8037 final Year Senior High students.

According to him, an amount GH¢ 75.4 million will be spent on the payment of the fees for the students.

Akufo-Addo stated that, the importance of education is to the future of Ghana, and the government of Ghana is determined to protect the lives of “Akufo-Addo graduates” and the teaching staff and non-teaching staff.

Government after evaluating the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 has announced that all final year students can now return to school.

High schools across the nation would be resuming on 22 June, 2020.

All university final year students have already resumed on the 15 June 2020 and Junior High Schools will resume on 29th June.
