‘I’ll send him [Mason Mount] a message later of thanks.
Those things are out of your hands but Mason’s a fantastic player and I’m pleased for him that he’s getting those numbers because he is a player of such a high level and those numbers reflect it.
‘It’s brilliant for him and Chelsea did us a favor getting that result, but we have to make sure we do our own thing to get this over the line.’
Frank Lampard first worked for Mason Mount when the Chelsea Academy graduate was on loan at Derby County and later Chelsea.
Mason Mount was handed his Chelsea senior debut by Frank Lampard in a 4-0 defeat to Manchester United since then the England international has grown to become a key member of the Chelsea squad.

Lampard added: ‘There is work to be done but if you look at our recent results we have put ourselves in a decent position.
‘There were not enough clear chances. But if you are not at your best you need to make sure you pick up a point. That is not something we’ve done often enough this season.
‘Watford had players playing with something to lose. They had nothing on the game and sometimes that can be difficult to come against. They gave us a game.’
Mason Mount has also revealed what he loved when Chelsea travel to Leeds United
Speaking after the game, Mount revealed how much he enjoys facing Leeds.
He told Sky Sports “It was a fun one. I love playing here, a stadium with a lot of history.’’
“Their fans were brilliant, they don’t like us too much! We got the goal and quietened them down, we could play our stuff. That was our goal.”
He added: “I was reading the program before the game and it said to make the stadium as hard to play as possible, or something like that.’’
“When you come here, you know it’ll be tough. We loved it.”
