Fox News Today:
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said Tuesday that multiple police officers had been shot in an hours-long standoff in a Jersey City neighborhood.
SWAT teams and federal agents responded to the chaotic scene, and police blocked off the major thoroughfare where the shooting occurred.
Two suspects, one male and one female, were shot, both described as juveniles, while a third, described as a black male wearing all black, is still on the loose, a law enforcement source told Fox News.
One police officer, who was undercover, was transported to a medical center with an apparent shoulder injury but their condition was not immediately clear.
Several local schools were placed on lockdown while the situation is ongoing, officials said. Jersey City Public Schools tweeted “all students and staff are safe.”
NJ Transit has suspended Hudson–Bergen Light Rail service and bus service on the West Side Branch.
