Authorities told CNN affiliate WDIV that a house explosion in Michigan on Saturday resulted in at least four fatalities and two injuries.
It detonated like a bomb. An unidentified neighbor who was in the area at the time told the station, “I don’t know how to explain it.” “I’ve never seen anything so scary,” the person said.
It was approximately 3:50 p.m. when the explosion occurred, leveling the house. Saturday in Washtenaw County, roughly ten miles north of Ann Arbor, according to the station.
According to Northfield Township police Lt. David Powell, officers received a call reporting debris found close to Highway 23, which is next to the street where the explosion happened. “It’s awful,” he continued.
The station said that investigations are underway to determine what caused the explosion.
About a mile away from the house, Scott McMillian told CNN affiliate WXYZ, “It sounded like something I remember from war.” “It was really loud.”
