Shootings harmed many children.
Local sources say a Monday night mass shooting in Kingsessing, Southwest Philadelphia, killed four individuals and wounded two children.
Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw reported a peaceful arrest. During the 8:30 p.m. shooting, he carried a bulletproof vest, numerous magazines, an “AR-type rifle,” a pistol, and a police scanner.
Fox 29 Philadelphia stated that a gunshot wound a 2-year-old and a 13-year-old, but their conditions were unknown. Police said the shooting killed four males aged 20–59.
The shooter fired while being followed by police and trapped in a Frazer Street alley. Outlaw claimed he was arrested without incident.
Unknown motivation.
“We have absolutely no idea why this happened,” Outlaw added. “At this point, all we know is that this person left their home and decided to target individuals.”
Outlaw continued, “Thank god our officers were here on scene, they responded as quickly as they did, I can’t even describe the level of bravery and courage that was shown in addition to the restraint.”
Officers responded to reports of an armed male suspect at South 56th Street and Chester Avenue, but the shooter escaped into the surrounding streets, 56th Street and Kingsessing Avenue. FOX 29 said the shooter headed to Frazer Street.
The unidentified suspect was arrested 10 minutes later.
Outlaw claimed police arrested another suspect who may have shot back at the shooter.
