Former Maryland high school teacher pleads guilty to sexually abusing student.

On Friday, former teacher Kirkland Shipley, who is now 48 years old and worked at Walt Whitman High School in Montgomery County, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a student at least twice between May and June of 2018. According to the statement released by the Department of Justice, Shipley was working with the student in the capacity of both an instructor and a rowing coach at the time that the occurrences took place.

A sexual misconduct charge was brought against Kirkland Shipley, 48, a former educator who worked at Walt Whitman High School in Montgomery County. Shipley has entered a guilty plea to the charge.

According to The News God, the former educator was also accused of gathering sexually explicit materials that belonged to another student in 2013, with whom he reportedly had sexual contact. This is based on allegations that he had sexual contact with this student. It is believed that the event in question took place in 2013.
