“This is a horrific crime,” said Lee Bercaw, the chief of police in Tampa.
After being charged with murdering her 4-year-old son and trying to cover up the harm he had received, a Florida lady was taken into custody.
According to a news release from Tampa police, Arayiah Hudson, 36, was brought into jail at her residence on Monday night in relation to her son Joseph’s death. She is accused of serious child abuse and first-degree murder.
When Hudson contacted 911 at around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday to report that her son wasn’t responding, police were dispatched to a residence in the 8400 block of N. 15th Street.
Officers performed CPR on the youngster when they got to the house, but a local hospital subsequently declared him dead.
