According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, eight persons were injured in a shooting at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event on Monday night in Fort Pierce, Florida.
According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson, “a “disagreement of some type” between two groups of people caused the shooting to start around 5:20 p.m. nearby Ilous Ellis Park.
According to the City of Fort Pierce, that park hosted an “MLK Car Show & Family Fun Day” from noon to 6:00 p.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, the status of one of the gunshot victims is critical. As they fled the site, four more people were wounded.
