Melissa Barnes is accused of abusing and neglecting children. Authorities say a mother from Tampa, Florida, who was living in a shed without electricity was taken into custody on Monday after giving her 13-month-old infant bleach in a bottle.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Melissa Barnes, 22, is accused of abusing and neglecting children for incidents that occurred in January.
A family member of Barnes’ notified the sheriff’s office on January 2, 2024, stating that Barnes had given her 13-month-old daughter a bottle containing bleach.
