The FBI believes hundreds of illegal immigrant women were victimized by a sex trafficking ring in New York City, allegedly led by a woman who used internet waitressing job advertising to lure victims before threatening to contact immigration if they did not engage in prostitution.

The FBI claimed on Tuesday that Ysenni Gomez, who was detained on August 12 during “Operation Cross Country,” may have hundreds of victims. This is because investigators found over 1,600 ads reportedly related to Gomez advocating prostitution extending back over a decade.

The advertising were reportedly located on Facebook, Bedpage.com, and MegaPersonals.com, and the FBI speculated that Gomez operated under the moniker “Chicas Express.”

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York claim that Gomez exploited recent Spanish-speaking immigrant women in Westchester County and the Bronx for prostitution.
