Family Dollar, a bargain retail corporation with outlets in almost two dozen states, recently announced many recalls for various items, including OTC drugs and toothpaste.
The firm voluntarily recalled “over-the-counter drugs and medical devices” that were “stored outside of labeled temperature requirements by Family Dollar and inadvertently shipped” to some of its locations between June 1 and September 21, 2023 on October 5. On October 10, the FDA released the company’s notification.
Cold cures, pain relievers, mouthwash, moisturizers, vitamins, and other items are among those being recalled. The impacted commodities were delivered across 23 states from June 1 to October 4, 2023.
“To date, Family Dollar has not received any consumer complaints or reports of illness related to this voluntary recall,” the company stated. “This recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution.”
“Family Dollar has notified its affected stores asking them to check their stock immediately and to quarantine and discontinue the sale of any affected product,” according to a statement sent by the company.
If you own any of the recalled items, you may return them to the retailer where you purchased them for a full refund, even if you do not have your receipt.
The Food and Drug Administration has published a detailed list of recalled items as well as the states affected on its website.
Earlier this spring, Family Dollar voluntarily recalled seven Advil products that it said were stored at the incorrect temperature, indicating that this is not a unique issue.
