Enzo Fernandez, who joined Chelsea during the winter transfer for a Premier League and club record of £ 105 million at the time Chelsea were experienced a round of poor results and performance.
Chelsea placed 12th in the Premier League and was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League by Real Madrid under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard. The West London club hopes to put behind the disastrous campaign last season, fight for the Premier League, and break into the top four this season.
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez believes that with their newfound aggressive attitude under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, The Blues will be aiming to win their first Premier League title since 2017.
What did Enzo Fernandez say is his target for Chelsea this season?
He told B/R Football: “Now we have a new head coach, you have to say the expectations of us have changed. Obviously, when I arrived, everything was difficult, there were lots of changes going on, and everything happened so fast for me.
“But now the expectations have changed: we want to be an aggressive team, a team that attacks and defends well, that goes into every game to win it, whoever we’re playing against, and look to dominate every game we’re in.
“And obviously, we want to try to win the Premier League; that’s our goal for this year.
“As well as that, I think the cups in England start in January, but the main aim this year is to win the Premier League.”
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino in his first interview as the club manager, revealed that he worked hard to bring joy and happiness to the club and restore the winning culture back at Chelsea.
Mauricio Pochettino explained: “What we want is to bring happiness again to this great football club, working hard, playing in the way that the fans can enjoy football.
“The history of Chelsea is to win. But it’s important also in the way that we are going to build up the victories – I think in the last 10, 12, 15 years, Chelsea is the greatest team in England.
“I know very well the Premier League, I know very well what Chelsea means, the culture of Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino refuses to assure Levi Colwill will have more playing time this season.
He revealed: “We assume he is going to play. I was clear with him; we were talking about him having the possibility to compete with different team-mates.
If he deserves to play, he will play.
“The possibility to play is higher because Ben Badiashile is injured, and he is left-footed and will compete with Ben. He needs to deserve it; it’s not because of one player’s injury; different types of combinations can happen.
“At the moment I need to see him and we need to know each other better. He is a fantastic talent. We are talking also about how we can improve his game in all areas.”
