A player can spend several hours completing Elden Ring. Players may encounter several dungeons, however, each dungeon comes with its own unique features.
In Elden Ring, the Lands Between have caves, catacombs, ruins, and tunnels, which are filled with a lot of weapons, materials, items, and certain enemies. Knowing what to expect before you enter the dungeons will assist you in adequately preparing for what is ahead of you and where to gain certain items when the need arises.
In this post, we shall discuss the different dungeons to expect in Elder Ring and what is needed to survive and complete the task.
Legacy Dungeons
Legacy Dungeons are the most challenging and still the game’s strongest points. It consists of a large well-designed area filled with challenging enemies and tough bosses. There is a limited site of grace and chance for filling flasks.
In Legacy Dungeons, a player needs to conquer Stormveil Castle, Raya Lucaria Academy, and Leyndell, Royal Capital to complete the game
Catacombs
In Elden Ring, there are underground grave sites in the lands in between called catacombs. Catacombs are smaller dungeons and contain enemies that are alive.
They contain treasures like Grave and Ghost Glovewarts that can be useful and come changing for the player. The Grave and Ghost Glovewarts are used to level up Spirit Ashes after you have unlocked those options with Roderika in the Roundtable Hold.
In each of the catacombs, you face one boss and a player reward for clearing the dungeons can be Spirit Ash or Spell or weapon.
The first catacombs you will find in Limgrave are Deathtouched Catacombs, Murkwater Catacombs, and Stormfoot Catacombs. This dungeon requires creativity and brainpower for the player to complete.
Tunnels
In Elden Ring, tunnels are the place where players find somber Smithing and Smithing stones to enhance weapons. Players face miners as they’re the common enemies you will encounter in the tunnel. The miners are very difficult to deafest because their hard skin makes them strong against splashing weapons.
The most effective way to defeat them is by using magic or an unsharpened weapon. Their bosses can also be defeated by the use of magic or an unsharpened weapon.
Limgrave Tunnels and Morne Tunnels are the tunnels found at the beginning of the game.
Caves
Caves in the Elden ring don’t have important upgraded weapons for the player to gain, like tunnels and catacombs.
However, the caves contain dangerous Demi-humans and wildlife. The Demi-humans and wildlife are easier and quicker to conquer that legacy dungeon, catacombs, and tunnels.
Defeat the wildlife and Demi-humans quickly and clear the boss to earn a spell or talisman, and weapon.
The caves at the beginning of the game include Coastal Cave, Murkwater Cave, and Groveside Cave.
Hero Graves
The Hero Graves sites contain the most dangerous dungeons in the Elden ring. There are only four of them, however. The chariot, adorned with spinning blades that travel along set paths, is the common element at the Hero Graves. The chariot can kill a player in one hit no matter your health, so timing is very important here.
Hero Graves has more one boss. The last boss is the toughest of them all, as the players have to fight with two tough bosses at the same time. You get an elite Spirit Ash when you clear a Hero Grave site.
You require two Stonesword Keys to unlock the first Hero Grave Fringefolk Hero’s Grave.
Ruins
Compare to the other dungeons, ruins are found above ground rather than underground. It is easy to identify ruins because of their crumbling structures. There is likely to be a boss at each ruin. But the number of enemies varies from one ruin to the other.
One thing that is similar in various ruins is there are stairs leading down to a treasure chest.
The ruins in Limgrave include the Gate front Ruins, Waypoint Ruins, and Mistwood Ruins.
