Downtown Reno is still the heart of the casino action in town, even though other resorts have sprung up south of town. Besides the casinos, resorts have invested in the Downtown Reno Events Center, and the Reno Ballroom, where you can see entertainment in a non-casino environment. There are resorts on the edges of downtown, like the Siena and the Sands, but on Virginia Street, right in the heart of Reno, these are your casino resort choices.
Circus Circus
Circus Circus is the most family oriented casino downtown, offering circus acts throughout the day, and a kids arcade and midway carnival with all kinds of games and attractions. If you stay at Circus Circus, you can access the Silver Legacy and Eldorado casinos via skywalks, and you can use their facilities, like the pool and health spa, too (for a small fee).

Fitzgerald’s
Fitzgerald’s isn’t as big as some of the other downtown resorts, but it’s the closest to the famous Reno arch, and some people like it just because it’s a bit smaller and more intimate. Decorated and created around an Irish theme, you can find Irish fare in the resort’s restaurants, and try your luck in the Lucky Forest before you hit the casino floor. Rooms tend to be a bit more economical here, because they don’t have the upscale spas and such some other resorts offer.
