On Sunday evening, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, took some jabs at President Joe Biden, stating that the White House’s policies had damaged the economy.
At a speech in Wisconsin, DeSantis stated that the current administration’s “huge expenditure” was the cause of rising inflation and that the reaction to this problem has made things worse for the American people.
DeSantis is quoted as saying, “[W]e are staring down the barrel of a lot of pretty serious trouble thanks to Joe Biden.” “You know, they’ve got inflation, which has been a complete and utter disaster for them. The interest rates are being increased. They are bringing the economy to a crawl. You know, about a year ago you put in an application for a mortgage. What interest rate were you offered, 2.6 or 2.5 percent? Right now, it’s somewhere above six percent. That is a tremendous leap forward. It is going to be quite challenging for working people to be able to afford such a significant rise.”
DeSantis stated that he has full faith in Wisconsin’s Republican gubernatorial nominee, businessman Tim Michels and that he would be able to guide the state through the challenging times ahead.
