It has come to light that several Democrats are scouting potential replacements for President Joe Biden in advance of the presidential election in 2024.
This week, the White House made public Biden’s intentions to run for reelection, but there are still questions over whether or not he will be able to count on the support of some of the most influential Democrats in the party for a second term.
It is not yet obvious what role President Biden will play in the next midterm elections, and it is not even certain that Democrats will accept his assistance even if he provides it. The President has only endorsed three candidates for congressional seats, except Representative Kurt Schrader, who was defeated in the Democratic primary by the more leftist Jamie McLeod-Skinner.
