The injuries sustained by the police officers are not life-threatening.
Three people were killed and at least ten others were wounded in a shooting that happened outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, on Friday at approximately 11:30 a.m., according to the Arkansas State Police.
At a news conference on Friday afternoon, Arkansas State Police Director Mike Hagar and Secretary of Public Safety stated that although two law enforcement personnel were among the injured, their injuries are not life-threatening.
After exchanging gunfire with state police, the accused gunman is in custody. Later on, Travis Eugene Posey, 44, of New Edinburg, Arkansas, was named as the suspect.
Posey will face three counts of capital murder, according to a bulletin from state police on Friday night. There are still outstanding charges.
