Police in Washington, D.C., have detained a 15-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting of a child last month, and they’re asking the public for assistance in locating more suspects.
The young suspect, whose identity was not made public, was detained on Friday and accused of assault with a deadly weapon (a gun), according to the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C.
On October 9, just before 1 p.m., a gunshot took place in the Southeast neighborhood’s 2600 block of Birney Place, according to police.
A young boy who had been shot was discovered by responding officers. The victim received immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital.
