Story
Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the flamboyant chief executive of Harit Pradesh, has been arrested and sentenced to prison on allegations of fraud. He has named his wife, Bimmo Devi “Bimmo” Chaudhary, as Chief Minister till he can post bail. Bimmo gets a makeover as she quickly learns the ropes and rises to prominence as a politician. Inmates look up to Chaudhary and treat him favorably because of his charm and street smarts. But things become worse for Chaudhary when the prison’s new superintendent, Jyoti Deswal, comes over.
Jyoti removes Chaudhary’s preferential care and treats him in the same manner as the other detainees. Despite his attempts to bribe the judge, Chaudhary is immediately denied bail. Jyoti humiliates Chaudhary by bringing up his lack of schooling and assigns him to work in the prison factory manufacturing chairs. Chaudhary has decided to study hard and pass the 10th-grade tests to graduate from high school. Jyoti’s exposure to Chaudhary’s deception saves the latter’s political career.
As his schooling progresses, Chaudhary’s Hindi skills seem to be deteriorating owing to dyslexia issues with the Hindi alphabet and a lack of visual imagery. Even though Bimmo makes it difficult for Chaudhary to do well on the exams, the two finally grow to admire one another. When Chaudhary returns to politics, he discovers that Bimmo has assumed the chief minister (CM) position despite having little support within his party. He joined the coalition party and brought down the government. As general elections are announced, everyone is actively campaigning.
After passing the examinations, Chaudhary rewarded Jyoti with a chair as Gurudakshina for her efforts. After his new party wins the election and he reconciles with Bimmo, Chaudhary chooses to become Minister of Education.
