Benfica midfielder Adel Taarabt has labeled Darwin Nunez as one of the best as he discusses his pending transfer to Liverpool this summer.

Official statements from Benfica reads: “reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the sale of all rights to the player Darwin Nunez, for the amount of €75m” and that the “total amount of the sale could reach the amount of €100m”.
Darwin Nunez won the top goal scorer in Portugal Primeira Liga with 26 goals in 28 matches. The 22 years old announced himself in the Champions League last season scoring 6 goals in 11 appearances for Benfica. In all competitions, Darwin Nunez scored 34 goals in 41 appearances for Benfica last season.
There are reports that Darwin Nunez will undergo medicals on Monday if everything goes as planned Liverpool will officially announce the signing of Darwin Nunez by the close of the week. The Uruguay international will be Liverpool’s most expensive player with his €100m transfer fees beating the €75 million Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk in 20218.
What did Adel Taarabt say to Darwin Nunez ?
Speaking in an interview with talkSPORTS, the Moroccan international said: “I like the selfish strikers, they just want to score – I like this – strikers that finish.
“Nunez has that. If he doesn’t score he’s not happy but he will work so hard for the team – he’s fit, if you see his body he’s a real athlete. He is a machine, for me, now in the Premier League, he will score for sure.”
Taarabt believes Darwin can replicate his impressive goal-scoring from Benfica to the Premier League after winning the Portugal Primeira Liga top goal scorer.
Adel Taarabt added: “100 percent Darwin Nunez can carry Benfica’s goal-scoring form to Premier League.
” he added. “You saw it in the Champions League, the two games he had against Liverpool, he was amazing.
“Even after the second leg when he scored after the match I think Klopp went to him directly and said ‘what a player. You see for Liverpool, they brought Luis Daiz from Porto, you see how good he was.
“For Darwin, I don’t know if it will be official or for sure Benfica will sell, I’ve heard (the reports)… I think for Darwin it will be the language, that is what’s important when you come to England, he has a mix of Cavani and Suarez, he can jump, and go behind, for me, he’s a mix of both.
“The season. 34 goals, six goals in the Champions League, two against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool. The most important thing, he keeps his head focused. For me, the only problem at Liverpool is the language barrier.”
