What did Darren Bent say?Meanwhile, former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere thinks Arsenal has a big chance of signing Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal has been busy in the transfer summer seeking to bolster their squad for next season. The Gunners were two points shy of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspurs in their quest to play in the Champions League. Arsenal’s failure to finish in the top four was attributed to a lack of squad depth and experience within the Arsenal squad.

The Gunner has seen their top two strikers leave the team this last season. Alexandre Lacazette confirmed he is leaving the club on a free transfer after spending 5 years at the Club while Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left Arsenal for Barcelona in January after Arsenal terminated his contract.

Christopher Nkunku had an exceptional season at RB Leipzig both in the Bundesliga and in Europe. The 24 years old scored 35 goals and provided 19 assists in 50 appearances for RB Leipzig including 20 goals and 14 assists in the Bundesliga. A performance that saw him win the Bundesliga player of the season and has also been a regular for the French National team.

Gabriel Jesus was also instrumental in Manchester City Premier League title-winning season. The Brazilian has emerged as the top transfer priority for Mikel Arteta. Arsenal faces tough competition from Tottenham Hotspurs, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.

Jesus has won four Premier League titles with Manchester City.

What did Darren Bent say?

In an interview with talkSPORTS, the former England striker said: “I’d like to see him go to Arsenal. I think he’d be brilliant.

“He’s not got a point to prove but I think he needs regular football and I think he’s more than good enough to score the goals to help Arsenal get back to where they’d like to get to.

“So I think that would be a really good addition to the squad.”

Darren Bent also expressed his desire to see Christopher Nkunku at Arsenal despite huge interest from other European elite clubs.

Bent added: “And Christopher Nkunku. He would cost a lot. There’s talk about him going back to Paris Saint-Germain.

But I’d love him. I think he fits the bill, he can play center-forward, he can play off the left, he can play off the right.”

Meanwhile, former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere thinks Arsenal has a big chance of signing Gabriel Jesus.

Jack Wilshere told talkSPORTS: “He has a year left on his contract? They could get him cheaper if they hold out. I’ve done that before [run down my contract] – you get more money that way, it’s a fact.

“That’s why the players do it. I think they will be queuing up [for Jesus]. I think Arsenal will have a big chance of signing him because of his relationship with his manager. I think Newcastle would go for him. But I would love to see him at Arsenal.”
