High School Career
Danny began his career at Louisiana’s Grace King High School in Metairie, his alma mater. He was a four-year letter-winner at Grace King, and his final season saw him average 24.3 points, 12 rebounds, and 5.5 blocks. Before his senior year, he got nominated for the McDonald’s All-American team. His ACT score was 30, and Yale University accepted him.

College And NBA Career
Danny Granger played for Bradley in 2001–02, averaged 11.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, and was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team. He later moved to New Mexico after the first half of his sophomore year, when he had 7.9 rebounds and averaged 19.2 points for the Braves. He couldn’t play for the Lobos until January 2004, when he was cleared to do so. He scored 19.5 points per game as a junior, which was his career high, and also led the Lobos in rebounds (9.0 rpg), steals (1.32 spg), and blocks (1.41 bpg). Danny joined Luc Longley, Willie Long, Mel Daniels, and Ira Harge as the only other Lobos averaging more than 19 and 9 points and rebounds, respectively, for a whole season. He was also the only Lobo to achieve this in the last 33 years. Granger was named to the first team of the All-Mountain West Conference, and the league’s Player of the Week twice, for the weeks ending December 22 and January 25. Granger became the only Player in the NCAA who, as a senior in 2004–05, averaged at least 18.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game (2.0). He led the team in points, rebounds, steals, and blocked shots for the second straight year.
He became the first Player in school history to have a season with more than 60 assists, blocks and steals. He finished his time at New Mexico just six points short of 1,000, and for the second year in a row. He was named First Team All-Mountain West for the second year after winning the MWC tournament’s Most Valuable Player award. He also came in second to Andrew Bogut of Utah for MWC Player of the Year. Indiana Pacers (2005–2014)
In the 2005 NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers picked Granger as the 17th overall pick. After averaging 7.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 78 games, he got selected for the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. On February 17, 2006, he started the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge at All-Star Weekend in Houston, where he finished with six minutes of play, nine points, two 3-pointers made, three rebounds, two assists, and a blocked shot.
Despite only hitting 30 3-pointers in his debut season, he led Indiana with 110 points and became the only Pacers Player to participate in every team’s 82 games; he started 57 of them, including the first 14 and 42 of the last 44.
Los Angeles Clippers (2014)
Granger was exchanged for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen by the Philadelphia 76ers on February 20, 2014, along with a second-round selection in 2015. The 76ers released him on February 26. He signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers for the remainder of the season two days later.
Miami Heat (2014–2015)
Granger joined the Miami Heat on July 14, 2014. He was dealt to the Phoenix Suns on February 19, 2015, as part of a three-team deal involving the New Orleans Pelicans. But he didn’t play for the Suns in 2014–15 because his knee hurt.
