At 17, Dana started doing stand-up comedy on stage. He attended Framingham State College to study theatre and communications after high school but left after a year to pursue a career in comedy in San Francisco. In 1986, he and fellow comic Alex Reid established the San Francisco Comedy Condo. Dana contributed music and writing to The Ben Stiller Show. Also, he made appearances as Newt Gingrich in a Madtv episode and as Jerry’s childhood friend “Fragile” Frankie Merman in a Seinfeld episode (“The Junk Mail”). In addition to being an executive producer, he co-created Super Adventure Team.
