Cuba Gooding Jr., well known for his performance in the film “Jerry Maguire,” was slated to go on trial for an alleged rape that occurred under duress on June 6th.
At 10:24 a.m. ET, just before jury selection was to begin, the parties lodged the settlement documents with the court.
The unidentified woman who claims that Gooding Jr. sexually assaulted her has filed a civil action against him, seeking compensation in the amount of $6 million. The judge previously determined that the woman must address the court using her given name. The court ordered that an updated file, including the woman’s identification, be created and submitted by Monday at noon; however, that deadline has come and gone without any such action being taken.
In an interview with the media, Gloria Allred, the attorney representing the plaintiff, said, “I have no comment at this time.”
