Critics of Harris Respond Following Endorsement by IRS-Linked Union: 'Prepare for Heavy Taxes'

One pro-Trump commentator on X said the action “should tell you all her plans are for us.” However, some social media users cautioned that a sizeable IRS-affiliated union’s recent support of Vice President Kamala Harris is a severe red signal.

Last week, the National Treasury Employees Union, a union of Internal Revenue Service employees, thanked Harris for boosting the IRS budget and announced their endorsement of her presidential bid. For X users, that was more proof Hillary should never enter the White House.

“Kamala Harris has been endorsed by the IRS Agents Union. That should tell you all you need to know what she has in store for us. Get ready to pay a death tax. On Saturday morning, conservative commentator Joey Mannarino announced on X, “VOTE TRUMP!

The IRS Agents Union just endorsed Kamala Harris.

That should tell you all what her plans are for us.

Get ready to be taxed to death.

VOTE TRUMP!

The NTEU said in a press release Wednesday that it endorsed Harris because the Biden/Harris administration “also delivered agency budgets that provide federal employees with additional staffing and resources, including significant new investments to rebuild the IRS under the Inflation Reduction Act.”

“Kamala Harris is the clear choice when it comes to treating federal employees with respect, valuing their service, and investing in their work,” NTEU National President Doreen Greenwald said in the statement. “She is a fellow American who shares our commitment to making sure that the federal government serves the interests of all citizens.”

As noted by the Media Research Center, the Biden-Harris praised the Inflation Reduction Act, which increased the IRS budget by $80 billion over ten years to hire up to 87,000 additional agents.

In a Fox News op-ed last September, contributor Jason Chaffetz gave some insight into the Biden-Harris administration’s plans to expand the IRS. He wrote, “The Biden-Harris administration wants an additional $104 billion for the IRS in its 2025 budget proposal.” Of course, that’s eight times the annual budget, just two years after Congress allocated funds seven times what is usually given to the agency. What’s going on here?

The users of X took that as an unfavourable endorsement from the IRS. Greg Price, conservative digital strategist: “If the IRS, the FBI, Wall Street, Iran, Putin, the military industrial complex, the New York Times, Iran, 100 former McCain interns, and Dick Cheney all want one candidate to win then, for the love of God, vote for the other one.”

Commentator and podcaster Comfortably Smug also took the Harris campaign to task for bragging about the support, saying, “The fact that the IRS is unionized is horrific, let alone that Kamala Harris thinks their endorsement is a good thing.”

Well-known libertarian X account “Being Libertarian” said, “The worst people on the planet are endorsing Kamala.” Weird.”

“Was Satan not available?” X account, “The Redheaded Libertarian,” asked.

IRS agents showed their support for Kamala,” wrote the Hodge Twins, a conservative podcast duo, next to several red flag emojis.
