COVID-19: Health Minster discharged from UGMC

Health Minster, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) where he was responding to treatment after contracting Covid-19 in line of duty.

Speaking in a press briefing today, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah indicated that he has spoken to Hon Kwaku Agyemang Manu and he (Kwaku Agyemang) told him he was responding to treatment at home.

However, the Dorma Central MP denied earlier reports that went rife that he has tested positive for the virus.

But in President Akufo-Addo’s 11th address to the nation which was to inform Ghanaians on measures put in place by government to manage the situation, the president confirmed that the Health Minister has tested positive for Coronavirus and wished him a speedy recovery.

“Let us wish our hardworking Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, MP for Dormaa Central, a speedy recovery from the virus, which he contracted in the line of duty, and is in a stable condition,” the President urged.
