Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher has revealed the talks he had with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel at a pub in Cobham.

He was named Crystal palace player of the year following an impressive season with the South London-based club. The 22-year-old England international scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists in 39 appearances for Crystal Palace last season.
His performance last season saw him earn a call up from Gareth Southgate in the England National Team. He is Often compared to French international and club teammate N’Golo Kante.
Thomas Tuchel disclosed last season that Conor Gallagher will play an important role for Chelsea next season and he has no intention of sending him on loan.
What did Conor Gallagher say about his meeting with Thomas Tuchel at Pub in Chobham in April?
In an interview with the daily mail, Conor Gallagher said: “It was funny because I saw him through the window and whispered to my girlfriend, mum, and dad, “God, it’s Thomas Tuchel”. He sat at the table right next to us so he couldn’t miss me.
“I’ve got older brothers who say if you’ve got something you want to say, then do it. Managers aren’t scary – they want to talk to their players and know what your thoughts are.
“I told him what I thought and he said what he thought. I said I think I’m ready to play for Chelsea.”
Gallagher also revealed the phone conversation he had with Thomas Tuchel where the Germain tactician encourage him to earn his place in the Chelsea squad, He added: ‘He said he wants me to be part of the squad and to prove myself in pre-season, so that’s the plan. I’m happy with that and just willing to work as hard as I can to prove to him that I can play for Chelsea.
‘It’s what I wanted to hear, it was a nice phone call that we had and it gave me a clear plan of pre-season and where I’m going to be. It was great to hear.”
Conor Gallagher believes that he has what it takes to be in the Chelsea squad.
Gallagher continued: “I feel ready for a step up in my career,’ he continued. ‘If there is a chance to be a part of the team at Chelsea then I can’t turn it down.
“I’ve got to have belief in myself that I can show the fans and the boss what I can do.”
The 22-year-old England midfielder is currently in the United States on a pre-season tour with Chelsea.
The question now remains whether or not Conor Gallagher can break into the Chelsea first team. The blues have quality players in the midfielder department.
He has battled for a place in Chelsea’s starting lineup with the likes of Jorginho, N’golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, and Ruben Loftus-cheek. Considering we are in a World Cup year, He risks losing his place in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-men squad for the World Cup if fails to be a regular at Chelsea.
