Officials claim that a man from Colorado was arrested and charged after he allegedly shot and murdered his cousin with a bow and arrow before attempting to break into a police station.
Carlos Alberto Trejo, 36, was apprehended by police at around 1:23 a.m. on December 18 when they spotted him attempting to breach into the station’s protected back parking lot. When asked by Colorado Springs police, he said he “just woke up” and shot his 37-year-old cousin Martin Rodarte with a composite bow and arrow.
Before attempting to open the station’s sealed back entrance, Trejo is said to have scaled the station’s “Authorized Personnel Only” back gate. He allegedly pulled the fire alarm after being unable to enter the building and then used an ice scraper to break the window next to the back door.
Trejo admitted to killing Rodarte and claimed he was attempting to turn himself in when police questioned him about what he was doing.
