China raises concerns about a growing global arms race after a video has been released with China showcasing its new advanced hypersonic weapons. The video in question, shared by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, throws light on China’s increasing development in hypersonic technology and successful tests of these new weapon systems.

The said video also highlights the team responsible for the development of these weapons. It can be recalled that this same team took responsibility for China’s very first successful horizontal landing of a hypersonic drone back in 2020.

As China continues to push the boundaries of military technology, some experts cannot help but question the safety of the world and whether or not the globe is headed in the direction of a global crisis.

The latest model in China’s hypersonic drone series was first revealed at the 2022 Zhuhai Air show and this particular model was called the MD-22. It has a range of eight thousand kilometers and the ability to carry payloads up to 600 kilograms. This advancement in military technology offers China significant benefits and possibilities for both military and surveillance operations.

A recent test video shows the unmanned MD series drone launched from a high-altitude balloon, reaching speeds of up to Mach 7 before landing safely. The impressive demonstration highlights China’s growing advancements in unmanned and hypersonic technologies, suggesting a possible shift in modern warfare.

Experts are worried because hypersonic weapons could dramatically alter the balance of global power. These advanced weapons, capable of reaching speeds of Mach 5 and beyond, could potentially bypass traditional defense systems, making them difficult to intercept. As nations race to develop such technologies, experts fear they could trigger a new arms race and escalate military tensions, increasing the risk of conflict. As concerns rise internationally, experts are intently observing the progress of these high-tech military systems. Stick and stay with us as we bring you more updates on the issue.
