What Is Cannabinoid Oil?

Cannabinoid, or CBD, is one of many compounds included in cannabis plants. CBD oil is a product that you get when you extract CBD from a cannabis plant and dilute it with oil.

There are basically three different types of cannabinoid oil on the market. One has some THC compounds, another contains other compounds, not including THC, and others just contain CBD.

People often use CBD oil for their alleged medical benefits, as it’s primarily associated with treating the effects of epilepsy or chronic pain. There’s been a lot of research done on the antiepileptic effects of CBD.

Outside of epilepsy, CBD is often used for anxiety, depression, and even addiction management. Since some CBD oils contain THC, those products are often used recreationally.

What Is Hemp Oil?

Hemp oil is extracted from Cannabis Sativa plant seeds. There is no THC in any hemp oil. Some may contain CBD, but usually in very low traces.

This means there are virtually no psychoactive effects related with hemp oil. Instead, people use hemp oil for nutritional purposes, as help oil is high in fatty acid and antioxidant content.

Hemp oil is therefore used for cardiovascular benefits, constipation relief, and even for improving skin conditions. No matter what you use it for, there’s no denying that hemp oil gives you a ton of nutrients.

The Big Differences

Going back to the question of CBD oil vs hemp oil, the main differences lie in their use and their effects on the user. Some CBD oils have psychoactive effects, while hemp oil offers none.

People also use hemp oil for different reasons compared to CBD oils. CBD oils are used for epilepsy and other conditions, while hemp oil is often associated with supplementing one’s nutrition.

While both come from cannabis plants, where and how the compounds are extracted differ. CBD oil also comes from the cannabis flower, stems, and leaves. Hemp oil, as we mentioned, extracts its hemp from cannabis seeds.
