A man was apprehended in California after allegedly being captured on security cameras placing a fluffy teddy bear laced with explosives in a parking lot and detonating it.
On Wednesday afternoon, officers reacted to a potentially explosive device inside a teddy bear that exploded in front of a business, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
The police department released a security video of the teddy bear explosion, which shows the item exploding in the parking lot.
A man can be seen dropping the teddy bear on the ground of the business’s parking lot next to a white van before sprinting back to his vehicle.
When the material animal explodes, it emits a large puff of smoke, startling a woman getting into another vehicle in the parking lot. Police did not say why the suspect exploded the teddy bear or whether anyone in the parking lot was hurt.
Authorities did not release the suspect’s identity.
According to authorities, officers discovered a ghost gun, more than 200 rounds of ammunition, more than a kilogram of methamphetamine, illegal pyrotechnics, a bulletproof vest, cash, and metal pipes and saws compatible with constructing an explosive device.
