According to the authorities, Brittanee Drexel was last seen in 2009 while she was on a trip to Myrtle Beach with her pals for spring break.
The body of a New York teenager who went missing while on spring break in South Carolina more than a decade ago was found a few miles away from the location where she was last seen, and the person who was believed to be her murderer was apprehended.
Authorities said on Monday that Raymond Douglas Moody was responsible for the kidnapping, sexual assault, and homicide of Brittanee Drexel in April of 2009 when she was on vacation in Myrtle Beach. About 35 miles away from the location where she was last seen, her body was found on Wednesday in the vicinity of Georgetown, according to the announcement made by Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver at a news conference.
When Drexel was last seen, she was making her way from hotel to hotel on foot. When she did not answer his text messages sent from Rochester, New York, he started to feel apprehensive.
