Career and Achievement
On ABC’s new comedy, Surviving Suburbia, in which he co-starred in with Cynthia Stevenson, he made his debut in April of 2009. The show, which had been scheduled to premiere on The CW, was canceled after only one season. Saget participated in the A&E reality show Strange Days in 2010, in which he documented the offbeat exploits of a wide range of people he followed through a variety of hobbies and lifestyles.
His novel Dirty Daddy was published in 2014, and it details his life, death, and the humor that shaped him. In order to promote the book, he went on a short tour, which included a stop at the Pemberton Music Festival, where he introduced Snoop Dogg and then performed a set of his own. In the same year, he made his first voyage Down Under with a stand-up performance dubbed “Bob Saget Live: The Dirty Daddy Tour.” The main cities of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth all had performances of the play. Saget was discovered unconscious in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, in the Williamsburg area of Florida south of Orlando on January 9, 2022, at about 4 p.m. EST. Because he hadn’t checked out by the agreed-upon time, his loved ones started to worry.
Saget, who was 65 years old, was declared dead at the site by emergency personnel. There was no early announcement of a cause of death, while the medical examiner and sheriff both ruled out foul play and drug usage. Saget had just played at Ponte Vedra Beach the night before his death, on the same tour, he was on when he passed away.
Saget suffered a hit to the back of his head, most likely from a fall, and died in his sleep from the accompanying injuries (subdural hematoma and subarachnoid hemorrhage), according to the autopsy report published on February 9, 2022. There were no symptoms of inflammation; however, he tested positive for COVID-19 at the time of his death.
The Saget family filed suit against county officials on February 15, 2022, to prevent the release of additional documents from the investigation of his death, citing privacy concerns over the graphic content of those documents. A permanent injunction was issued against their release in March 14, 2022.
