Bishop Evans, a Texan soldier who died saving illegal immigrants, will be buried.

Evans died while attempting to help two migrants; his body was recovered a few days after he died, according to authorities.

An open casket burial service will be held on Saturday for a member of the Texas National Guard who was discovered dead after attempting to save two migrants from drowning.

Attempting to save migrants from drowning as they crossed the Rio Grande into the United States from Mexico, Evan Evans, 22, was last seen trying to save them. In the vicinity of Eagle Pass, Texas, he was last seen walking. Even though there were two survivors, Evans was discovered dead a few days after they were located. Evans was not completely prepared for a water rescue at the time of the event, according to news reports.
