Bindu Madhavi was welcomed into the world by her parents on June 14, 1986, in Madanapalle, India, under the astrological sign of Gemini. She holds Indian nationality and is of white ethnicity. Bindu was raised in the Hindu religion alongside her sister, Sagar. Her father was a deputy commissioner in the tax department.

She began modelling while in college, with her first assignment in Los Angeles for Versace. Her family was adamantly opposed to her becoming an actress, despite her ambition to enter the film industry. She met celebrity photographer Venket Ram in Chennai, who agreed to photograph her portfolio. She continued to model and subsequently appeared in television advertisements.
As a result of her performance in a Tata Gold Tanishq advertisement, she was auditioned and cast in the Telugu film Avakai Biryani (2008) by renowned director Sekhar Kammula. She also earned a supporting role in Cheran’s Tamil romantic drama film Pokkisham (2009). Puri Jagannadh produced her other 2009 release, Bumper Offer, in which she starred opposite Sairam Shankar.
Her first 2014 film was Chimbu Deven’s Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaniyum, in which she portrayed the protagonist’s best friend, Malar.
