The number of persons crossing the border into the country is once again on the increase.
The administration of Vice President Joe Biden is taking a number of different actions in response to what seems to be an increase in the flow of migrants at the southern border as well as a shift in that flow.
After reaching a high point just before the repeal of Title 42 in early May, the number of migrants who were apprehended at the southern border reduced, contradicting the predictions that were made. In the month of May, there were more than 200,000 of them; but, by the month of June, that number had dropped to around 144,000.
It would seem that the numbers have been climbing in spite of the assurances made by the Biden administration that their post-Title 42 program was a success. According to an article that was published in The Washington Post last week, preliminary figures indicate a 30% increase in July.
