Special Prosecutor, Martin ABK Amidu is lamenting over how the Attorney General is frustrating his work especially denying him access to funds allocated to his office in order to function effectively.
According to the anti-corruption crusader, some GH¢2 million to procure vehicles have been denied.
“The Ministry of Justice is supposed to be in charge of my office. How many times has she come to my office? Does she know where it is? I was given GH¢2 million to procure vehicles through the Ministry of Justice. What happened to it?
You say you have given GH¢180 million. I cannot access the GH¢180 million because as we speak today, my office has not been classified for procurement purposes. So I cannot procure cars myself, I cannot procure equipment myself. I can procure nothing,” he complained.
Mr Amidu who for his zeal to fight corruption even within his own party members receive fierce opposition from his NDC party a situation leading to him parting ways with his party for good. This has gained him the much-needed respect Ghanaians for sticking to his principles.
