At three people dead and another 3 wounded in a shooting on Tuesday in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies received information at about 5:30 p.m. about a shooting in Spotsylvania, Virginia — a suburb about 60 miles south of Washington, D.C.
According to a news release, deputies arrived and found multiple people were shot.

As approximately 7:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office confirmed three people were deceased, and another three people were brought to nearby hospitals, according to the release. Maj. Elizabeth Scott from the sheriff’s office said at a press conference that the victims were found outside, according to WTTG.
“I mean this is probably as bad as it can get with at least six people being shot right now. It’s been a stressful 24 hours,” Scott said.

Shortly before the incident unfolded, two men were seen in the area of the shooting carrying guns, according to ideo obtained by WTTG, but the sheriff’s office is not connecting them to the shooting at this time.
“This is an active and fluid investigation,” according to SCSO officials. “No suspect(s) have been apprehended at this time … We ask the public to please stay clear of the area.”
While no arrests have been made, it is believed there were several people involved in the shooting, according to WTTG. The ages of the victims have not yet been released.

The Fredericksburg City Public Schools announced a two-hour delay on Wednesday.
According to a release, “in light of the profound impact this incident has had on members of our school community, FCPS will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9.” “We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate this together.
