Andrew Clay Silverstein, widely known by his stage name Andrew Dice Clay, is a famous American stand-up comedian, actor, and musician born in Brooklyn, New York, United States, on September 29, 1957.
Clay Silverstein was born in the Sheepshead Bay district of Brooklyn, New York City, to parents Jacqueline and Fred Silverstein. He is Jewish. He has one sister.
Clay began performing impressions for his family at the age of five, and by the age of seven, he was playing drums, influenced by the sounds of big band music.
Clay went to James Madison High School in Brooklyn and worked as a drummer on the Catskill Mountains circuit as a teenager in the 1970s, performing at bar mitzvahs and weddings under the name Clay Silvers. When he returned to New York City, he was unable to assemble his own large band.

Andrew’s career began in 1978 when he auditioned for Pips. This is a comedy club in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He made an impression as a comedian and had a huge impact on his career.
