Donald A. Pierce was the victim of a homicide in which blunt force trauma was the contributing factor, as stated by the Portland Police Bureau.
On June 25, a man allegedly attacked Pierce and another elderly victim, a man who was 88 years old, as they were waiting at a bus stop in the downtown area of Portland. According to the police, the victims had done nothing to provoke the attack.
Officers stumbled upon the assault when they were responding to another call in the area of Southwest 5th Avenue and Southwest Hall Street.
