Sources report that Al Hilal has made a £46 million ($58 million) offer for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Saudi Pro League club has rejected multiple bids but has resubmitted a revised offer that is reportedly close to Fulham’s asking price.
Mitrovic wants to leave Fulham, but it was anticipated that he would remain at Craven Cottage this summer after being reintegrated into the first team, after initially training separately from his teammates at the beginning of the club’s preseason tour to the United States as he pressed for a transfer.
The 28-year-old was a substitute in the 58th minute of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Everton, but Al Hilal’s new offer casts fresh uncertainty on his future.
Mitrovic scored 15 goals last season, but Fulham manager Marco Silva stated last week, “The market is open, and everyone is searching for strikers, and they want the best.
“If they desire the finest, they should consider Mitro. I am unable to guarantee that he will remain with us until the end of the market because I do not control the market. But we are ready for anything, even if it’s something I don’t want to happen.”
