The District Chief Executive Officer for Amansie South, Asante Bediako has been relieved of his position according to a reliable information available to thenewsgod.com.
According the source, Mr Bediako was sacked due to his endorsement of illegal mining popularly referred to as ‘galamsey’.
The source disclosed that the DCE’s endorsement of the illegal mining activities is in contradiction of government’s pledge to abolish it.
Though an official letter will be issued very soon, Mr Bediako is expected to receive his dismissal letter in the course of the week.
The decision by the President, according to our source was taken after deliberations with some members of his cabinet, including the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng and the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh after a video in which the DCE was captured endorsing ‘galamsey’ and encouraging others to engage in same went viral; the Manhyia Palace also okayed the President’s decision, he said.
