Flooding of catastrophic proportions forced the evacuation of tourists from Yellowstone National Park. Many bridges in the park were destroyed.
Wednesday morning at eight in the morning, Yellowstone National Park will partially reopen to the public after heavy flooding caused extensive damage to bridges and streets and forced hundreds of residents to evacuate their homes.
To an announcement that was made by the National Park Service on Saturday, visitors with license plates that have even numbers and motorcycle groups will be permitted on even-numbered days, whereas visitors with license plates that have odd numbers or vanity plates will be permitted on odd-numbered days.
Commercial tours and passengers who can provide documentation of an overnight reservation at a hotel, camping site, or in the backcountry will be allowed access into Yellowstone National Park regardless of the license plate number displayed on their vehicle.
