Start with an outline

We all know how stressful writing a college paper can be. It’s easy to write yourself into a corner and have no idea where to go next. The answer: start with an outline. Most papers have five main parts: introduction, thesis statement, body paragraphs, conclusion and references. To start your essay off on a strong note, lay out each section of your paper in an outline format first so you know exactly what you’re going to write about before diving into that first sentence.

First, know your topic

Before you even put pen to paper, know what you’re going to write about. This seems like a no-brainer, but with college papers it can be easy to get lost in all of your coursework and lose sight of that fact that you need to finish up your research before getting started. Going into a paper without knowing exactly what you’re writing about is a recipe for disaster—or at least an unnecessarily stressful experience.

Then, make a detailed list of questions

Do you have a paper due next week? Are you unsure of how to write it? Who would know how to write it? What are all of your options? There are dozens, if not hundreds, of companies that will be willing to help you along with your paper. But who should you choose? How can you ensure that they will do an excellent job? What can they offer that others cannot?

Do some research

Sometimes, simply doing some research is all you need to write a top-notch college paper. For example, if you’re writing about gun control in America, it’s probably a good idea to do some fact checking on your statistics. If you can build up any kind of credibility by showing that your work is based on solid research and data, chances are better that someone will take your ideas seriously. You can also get some ideas by trying some of the professional writers listed here https://urbanmatter.com/top-paper-writers-in-2022-for-any-academic-level-and-subject/.

Brainstorm possible answers

Brainstorming is all about writing down possible answers. When you begin to brainstorm, focus on all of your options, no matter how crazy they may seem. Don’t let fear of looking silly or amateur stop you from listing them out. Sometimes knowing what doesn’t work is just as valuable as knowing what does! With that in mind, get started with these questions: How will I craft my paper? Where will I find sources and resources? What facts do I need to include?

Write a first draft

Another step in writing a college paper is to make sure you’re addressing your audience (read: teachers, professors, or whoever else will be reading your paper). You should keep an open mind throughout all of your research; don’t just seek out information that agrees with what you want to say. The more thorough and detailed your research is, then the better your final product will be.

Take breaks often

It’s easy to get stuck in a college-paper rut. Whenever you start to feel that way, take a break and do something different for at least 20 minutes: Walk around campus, read a non-academic book, drink some tea—whatever your pleasure. This not only gives your brain a chance to relax and reset but also gives you a new perspective on your paper before you dive back in. Remember: You’re not writing an essay; you’re having fun with it!

Check grammar and spelling

Despite your best efforts, you will make mistakes when writing college papers. But here’s a trick: learn to spot mistakes before you turn in your work. Write and revise each paper twice, and after your second draft, ask someone else to proofread it for you. Proofreading is a skill that takes practice and can be mastered by anyone who puts in enough time.

Proofread your paper carefully

Before handing in your paper, make sure to read through it from start to finish at least twice and look for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. If possible, ask a friend or family member to read through it too—especially if they have a strong grasp of English. It never hurts to get another set of eyes on your work before submitting it. Proofreading is important because even if you didn’t intend any mistakes to be in your paper, small errors can diminish your credibility with professors and peers.

Patrick Green is a die-hard workaholic. Last semester, he has done more than fifty essays, a dozen term papers, and two Master’s level dissertations. Unfortunately, Patrick doesn’t know how to write bad essays. So it’s either a good essay, great, or excellent. With Mr. Green working on your order, it’s safe to say that there’s nothing to worry about because work will be done well in time!
